What to Expect

Join this 3-hour authentic Bergenser tasting experience. Our tour guides will help you easily navigate through this UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, while you uncover Bergen’s rich food history and culture. You will learn about local ingredients and expert preparations involved in each dish. Discover the background of the chef’s and artisans we visit as well as their influence on Bergen’s evolving food scene.

Stroll through the main streets of Bergen Sentrum which boasts top restaurants, informative museums, and historic landmarks. You’ll cross over the famous Fish Market and conclude at Bryggen, Bergen’s picturesque waterfront.

When visiting Bergen there are leading restaurants that are “must visits” and traditional dishes you must try; this tour is the only one that visits them all. Fjellskål Fisketorget (Bergen-style Smoked Seafood), Trekroneren (Bergen Street Food), UNA (Local Craft Beer or Aquavit tasting; Scandinavian Spirit believed to heal all ailments), local and seasonal food stop (changes based on the season), and Sweet Rain (Bergen-inspired Dessert). Not to mention, guests will have the unique opportunity to taste Christopher Håtuft’s modern take on Bergen Fish Soup.

Opened in 2016, becoming Bergen's first Pâtisserie featuring decadent cakes and cookies, and savory dishes.


The history of Trekroneren dates back to 1948 and has made itself Bergen's most beloved street food.


Located in an 112-year-old original building, UNA serves award-winning local craft beer, stone baked pizzas, and burgers.

Our food tours include 5-6 tasting locations including a variety of styles of restaurants, artisan shops, and local hot spots. The Bergen Classic offers a variety of bite-size tastings and drinks such as a wide selection of traditionally smoked seafood (minimum of 5 types), four local craft beer (400ml) or 3 types of Norwegian Aquavit (6 fl. oz), decadent dessert, Norwegian brown cheese, iconic Bergen Fish Soup, reindeer sausage, and a local and seasonal food stop.


We CAN provide substitutions for vegetarians and those who do not drink alcohol, but we CANNOT provide substitutions for any other allergies or dietary preferences. Allergies and preferences must be indicated in the Notes section when purchasing your ticket. You can also email us if you have any questions.

Please note, this tour does not have gluten-free options available. Please notify us of any serious allergies so we can tell you which food(s) to avoid.

Tours generally last 3 hours depending on the tour route, and guests can expect to be standing or walking for some of the time. We walk at a moderate pace and also provide at least three sit-down locations on each food tour for at least 45 minutes resting time.

The Bergen Classic is a relaxed pace tour that is suitable for all fitness levels.

Guests will be seated for most of the transportation, guided tour and beer tasting at the 7 Fjell Experience with minimal walking.

The Bergen Classic is only offered in English at this time.
